Joplin 3.7 is the product's first real AI release: an in-app chat panel for querying the currently open note, semantic (meaning-based) search across notebooks, and an MCP server that lets external AI assistants connect to Joplin's note graph. The implementation is privacy-first by design — AI is disabled by default, local models (Ollama, LM Studio) are explicitly supported, and cloud AI services only receive the specific note content relevant to a request rather than the full notebook. Reliability with third-party services remains the axis the work actually moves on — Freebox, Jellyfin, torrent re-import and language handling are all cases of another system behaving in a way Radarr had not accounted for. The framework-level additions in this release are inherited rather than chosen: Trusted Networks, hostname validation and health-check reasons appear identically in Prowlarr on the same day. The genuinely Radarr-specific additions are small search and metadata conveniences, which is the first time in two months the visible surface has moved at all.
◆ Prediction
Expect the external ID and original-title work to continue as metadata breadth rather than becoming a feature cycle, since that is the only axis on which this application has grown recently. The notes give no sign of a larger change.
