◆Current state
v0 ships on roughly a weekly cadence, with each release adding model options, integration improvements, and UX refinements. The structurally significant move this cycle is zero-config Vercel AI Gateway authentication for every app v0 generates: generated apps now have built-in access to text, embeddings, images, video, speech, and transcription without the user providing API keys. ◆Where it's heading
The zero-config AI Gateway move is the clearest signal of v0's direction: Vercel is using v0 as the generation engine and AI Gateway as the infrastructure lock-in. Every AI-capable app built with v0 becomes a Vercel AI Gateway customer by default, creating a compounding platform advantage. The weekly cadence of model additions (Sol, Opus 5, Opus 4.8) shows v0 treating the model layer as interchangeable — the differentiation is in the generation quality, the integrations, and the deployment rails.
