Testomat is pushing test management out of its web app and into the browser under test

◆Current state
Testomat is a test management platform that ships large themed digests every one to two months, each bundling half a dozen features. The last year has been steady accumulation: milestones, a public API v2, an MCP server, defect boards wired to bug trackers, scheduled runs, tree views for plans and runs, and a run of AI helpers for test data, review and analytics. The latest digest is the broadest yet, adding dictation, a browser extension, manual-to-automated progress analytics and an AI-generated project restructure proposal.
◆Where it's heading
Two threads dominate. AI keeps being applied to authoring and organisation rather than execution — polishing dictated steps, suggesting test data, proposing a folder structure as a mind map the team must approve rather than an automatic migration. Alongside that, Testomat is moving the manual tester's workspace closer to the application: a side panel that runs tests, records browser actions as reusable steps and attaches console logs and network activity without switching back to the web app. Both threads reduce the typing between having a test in mind and having it recorded.
◆Prediction
The extension's action recording is the piece most likely to grow next — converting recorded steps into automated tests would close the manual-to-automated loop the new analytics widget currently only measures.
