SRS shipped the stable 6.0 line's first release on 12 August and, three hours later, the first development build of 7.0. The 6.0 line is now in pure maintenance — the r1 changelog is seven merges of DVR, WebRTC and edge fixes. Everything new is in 7.0-d0: RTSP playback, RTMPS, IPv6 across every protocol, HEVC in both directions between RTMP and WebRTC, and HLS fMP4 segments for HEVC and LL-HLS.

What is JW Player?

JW Player automates CMAF rendition ladders and sharpens ad attribution by player and placement

JW Player is running two parallel feature tracks. The vertical video surface is maturing — from the initial full-screen display mode through localization and now responsive layout changes after load. The ad analytics layer is expanding in the opposite direction: new dimensions linking ad impressions to specific players, placements, and media items give ad ops teams substantially more granular attribution. Mobile SDKs are adding configurable live latency and accessibility controls. The CMAF VOD pipeline now automatically generates a full rendition ladder, removing a manual step that previously required creating individual renditions.
