ToolJet v3.21.71-beta landed the platform's most consequential feature batch in recent memory: Personal Access Tokens, two-factor authentication, LLM provider switching with AI query transformation, MCP authentication via PATs, OneNote integration, CSV import into ToolJet DB, multi-model build support with a redesigned model picker, OTel observability on semantic conventions, and an AI-powered content generation option. The LTS branch ships more conservatively, receiving MCP bundling in the EE image and AI build cancellation support.

The cluster's internal transport is being rebuilt on the assumption that the network between nodes is not trusted. Authentication and encryption arrived first, and the fixes that followed, overflow guards and a maximum remote message size, are the hardening pass on the same code paths. Release discipline is heavy and visible: each version ships a release candidate with an identical commit set days earlier, and every 3.0 release documents the regressions it introduced and where they were fixed.
Remote CIB operations now support both X509 certificates and PSK, and the recent fixes all sit in message framing and size limits; further work is most likely to continue in that message-handling code rather than adding another authentication mechanism.

ToolJet is repositioning from a low-code internal tool builder to an AI-native development platform. The MCP integration and multi-LLM provider switching indicate they're building for a world where AI agents are first-class citizens in app logic. The PAT + MCP combination creates a developer-facing API surface that third-party tools can call against ToolJet-managed apps, which is a meaningfully different product direction.
The beta's LLM-switching and MCP foundation will likely surface as a differentiated 'AI workflows' tier in a future pricing change, separating standard app-building from agentic AI features that consume LLM credits.
