Muvi vs Restream

Muvi's feed is mostly search-targeted content for streaming operators — access control for corporate broadcasts, DRM for live streams, church livestreaming setups, AI content filtering — with occasional real announcements mixed in under the same format. AI SafeWatch, which lets viewers skip sensitive scenes, is the current example: an actual capability announced in a body that looks identical to the explainers around it. Bodies are single-paragraph summaries ending in a Continue reading marker.

The recurring theme is control over what a viewer can see and do: DRM, domain restrictions, watermarking, device controls, broadcast delay, and now scene-level filtering the viewer chooses rather than the operator enforces. AI SafeWatch is the interesting turn there — every other control in this feed is the operator restricting the audience, while this one hands the choice to the person watching. The vertical content, churches and corporate events, marks where Muvi is selling.

Content filtering has now been argued twice and shipped once, so expect SafeWatch's categories to become operator-configurable, since the rest of this product's viewer controls are administered rather than self-serve.
