In-app subscription and paywall management platform for mobile apps

Purchasely 6.0 overhauls the SDK's core — initialization, presentation, and purchase flow get a full rewrite.

Current state
Purchasely is an SDK for managing in-app subscriptions and paywalls on iOS, Android, and web. SDK 6.0 modernized the initialization model, screen presentation, action handling, and purchase flow control across all platforms — a major version that breaks backwards compatibility but aligns the SDK with current platform requirements. SDK 6.1 builds on this with a web-to-app redemption flow and proxy routing for environments where the Purchasely API is unreachable.
Where it's heading
The 5.x series added screen orchestration (Flows), conditional visibility (Bring Your Own Screen), web checkout parity, and campaign tooling. The 6.0 reset cleans up the resulting complexity. The web-to-app redemption feature in 6.1 extends the funnel across platforms — subscribers who start on the web can redeem in the app and vice versa. This is a meaningful cross-platform monetization capability.
Prediction
The next move is likely expanding web-to-app funnel analytics and deepening the server-to-server event model to support more complex subscription lifecycle scenarios (pauses, downgrades, family plans). The proxy routing feature in 6.1 suggests Purchasely is serving markets or enterprise environments with restricted network access.

    6.1 - Web2App Redemption

Web-to-app redemption enables the cross-platform subscription funnel — users who purchased on the web can redeem their subscription in the app, closing a gap for developers targeting both channels. Anonymous user ID control and proxy routing for restricted networks are operational improvements that serve specific but important deployment scenarios.

6.0 - 12 month commitment and personalized tags

    ⚡ SPARK

SDK 6.0 is a ground-up modernization of Purchasely's core API surface — initialization, screen presentation, action handling, and purchase flow control are all redesigned across supported platforms. Major version breaks are intentional; the redesign aligns the SDK with the capabilities added across the 5.x series while reducing the accumulated complexity.

5.7 - Open a flow from an inline screen

Opening a flow from an inline screen extends the screen orchestration model — users can trigger a paywall or upsell flow from within an embedded screen context, enabling more complex funnel paths without requiring a full-screen takeover.

5.6 - Bring Your Own Screen & Conditional Visibility

Bring Your Own Screen and conditional visibility were described as the two most-requested features at 5.6 launch — BYOS lets developers replace Purchasely's native UI elements with their own, while conditional visibility allows paywall content to change based on user context. Both are significant for teams with complex design systems.

5.5 - Various Data discrepancies and bugs fixed & Web checkout for Android

5.5 addresses a cluster of data discrepancies alongside web checkout parity for Android — the data fixes are operational reliability improvements, and Android web checkout closes a platform gap that existed since web checkout launched.

    5.4 - Privacy Levels & Safe Areas

Privacy levels let developers control what data Purchasely collects per-screen, and safe areas fix layout issues on devices with notches and home indicators — both are practical requirements for compliant, production-quality paywall implementations.
