LatitudeLearning is handing its AI assistant to portal administrators to configure, not just switch on.

Current state
LatitudeLearning ships monthly LMS releases and has spent 2026 threading AI through the learner experience: a Learning Assistant chatbot, AI Study Guides, and AI tools for building self-study courses. The newest release shifts from adding AI capability to controlling it, giving portal administrators a configuration page for where the assistant appears, what it is called, the wording it uses in interactions, and additional instructions that shape its tone and output. The feed itself carries only two-sentence summaries, so the substance sits on the linked release pages rather than in the entries.
Where it's heading
The pattern across the last six releases is an AI surface introduced, then progressively handed to the operator. Study Guides, AI source materials that widened to accept links, and self-study authoring tools all arrived as capability first; this release is the first to let an administrator decide how the assistant presents itself to learners. For a platform sold into franchise and partner networks, per-portal naming and tone control is worth more than raw model capability, because each portal is a different brand addressing a different audience.
Prediction
Expect the configuration surface to widen before new AI features land, most likely toward per-portal or per-audience assistant settings and control over which source materials the assistant may draw on. The feed's own summaries will stay too thin to judge scope from, so the linked notes remain the only reliable read.

LMS Release Notes – Improved AI Learning Assistant

Administrator control catches up with the assistant itself: portal admins can set where the Learning Assistant appears, rename it, rewrite its interaction text, and supply additional instructions that steer its tone and output. That last option is the notable one, letting each portal shape the chatbot's voice without touching the model underneath.

LMS Release Notes – AI Study Guide Updates

Updates to the AI Study Guide, the second AI surface this platform has iterated on rather than shipped and left alone. The entry names the feature but not the changes, which is this feed's habit.

LMS Release Notes – New Learning Path Accreditations

Accreditations can now be created from Learning Paths, and AI Source Materials expanded to accept links. The source-material change is the more consequential half, since it widens what the AI features are allowed to draw on.
