◆Current state
The August note adds a one-time email code as an option on the existing email-and-password connection, enabled per connection via a Sign in with a code setting, alongside billing changes the summary does not detail. Kinde's monthly notes are short and truncated at the source, so the visible surface is narrower than the release actually is. The month before was the consequential one: Secure MCP, which hands a customer an MCP server for their own product rather than for Kinde.
◆Where it's heading
Kinde is building outward from login into the commercial and agent-facing plumbing around it. Billing has appeared in four of the last six monthly notes — self-serve plan management, customer cancellation, flexible billing — and now sits as a co-equal surface next to authentication rather than an afterthought. Secure MCP is the larger bet, putting Kinde's auth in front of a customer's agent-facing API instead of their sign-in page, and this month's release does not extend it.
◆Prediction
Expect Secure MCP to move out of beta with scope and revocation controls attached, since credential scoping is the part of an agent-facing API customers are least willing to build themselves.
