◆Current state
Checkr is a background-check and pre-employment screening platform. The last six months have been dominated by Identity Verification (IDV) — launched in the U.S. in December 2025, gained re-verifications in April, and now orderable in self-serve as of this month — alongside speed improvements to core verification flows (Instant Database for U.S. employment) and a new vertical report type (PSP for motor carriers).
◆Where it's heading
IDV is the strategic centerpiece. From one launch in December to three material expansions in five months, Checkr is treating identity verification as its fraud-prevention SKU rather than a feature inside background checks. PSP for motor carriers signals the second pattern: vertical-specific report packages layered on top of the core platform.
◆Prediction
Expect more IDV expansion — likely international, since the December launch was U.S.-only — and additional vertical-specific report packages following the PSP template into other regulated industries.
