ESPHome 2026.9.0 ships template climate component, OTA encryption with API key, and ESP-NOW for ESP32-P4
A side-by-side editorial comparison of HAProxy Kubernetes Ingress Controller and GitHub — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Fourteen patches into 3.2, and ssl-passthrough is still where the bugs are.
The controller is deep in the 3.2 patch line, shipping roughly every two weeks with no new configuration surface since the series opened. Four of the last six releases touch ssl-passthrough: resolving its mode before rules are built, reconciling its backends, and now keeping allow and deny lists attached to the https frontend. The rest is Kubernetes-object correctness — EndpointSlice handling, ingress merge ordering, duplicated backend config snippets.

GitHub Copilot gets cost-aware inference tiers as enterprise AI tooling tightens across the platform.
GitHub is in a sustained Copilot expansion phase, adding cost/quality tradeoff controls (efficiency, balance, intelligence tiers) alongside auto-resolution in code review and VS Code Agent metrics. Enterprise security is tightening in parallel—GitHub Advanced Security configurations are now enforceable at the org level and the SHA-1/HTTPS sunset executed on schedule. These are not experiments; they are systematic infrastructure for a development workflow where Copilot is the primary interface.

This is a stabilisation series, not a feature series. The recurring theme is that ssl-passthrough interacts badly with everything layered on top of it — access control, backend reconciliation, rule generation — and each release fixes one more intersection. Test coverage is now landing alongside the fixes rather than after them, which suggests the maintainers are treating the passthrough path as a known weak spot rather than a series of unrelated bugs.
Expect 3.2.x to continue at a two-week cadence with further ssl-passthrough intersections, and expect any new capability to wait for a 3.3 line rather than arrive in a patch.

The auto model selection tiers reveal GitHub's intent to position Copilot as a managed, metered inference service rather than a flat-rate coding assistant. Project HydraFusion's adaptive model orchestration in CLI signals that multi-model routing is becoming a first-class product dial. Expect enterprise admins to gain finer-grained controls over model selection and spend within the next few release cycles.
GitHub will extend the cost/quality tier model beyond auto selection to manual Copilot configurations, letting orgs cap which model tiers individual teams can access—turning AI spend into an IT governance decision.
